A quarryman's cottage with all the comforts of the 21st century. Ty Ganol holiday cottage in Bethesda has the mountains of Snowdonia on its doorstep and the beaches of Anglesey and the North Wales coast within easy reach.
From its elevated position above Bethesda (home to the famous Zip World, the fastest zip line in the world) it has wide open views towards Anglesey. And from the cottage window the sunset, and heather covered hills, are sights to behold.
Ty Ganol is ideally placed for exploration of the Carneddau and Glyderau mountain ranges, and these can be accessed without resorting to the car. It's just a matter of lacing up your boots and heading for the hills! But hillwalking is not the only outdoor activity on offer, there's also: kayaking and canoeing, rock climbing and mountaineering, running, biking, outdoor swimming, paddle boarding, and surfing - to name but a few!
For those who like a bit of historical context, there's an abundance of castles within a twenty mile radius, including the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Caernaerfon Castle. And the area is steeped in slate quarrying history. The slate museum in Llanberis gives a fascinating insight into the lives of the quarrymen, while Penryhn Castle, just down the road, provides a different perspective on the industry.
Nature lovers are also well catered for, with no shortage of nature reserves nearby. Raptors, ravens, cuckoos, kingfishers, and all manner of sea and shore birds can be seen or heard locally. The lucky few may even catch a glimpse of an otter.
But at the end of your day, back at Ty Ganol, you can curl up in front of a lovely fire, watch a movie, or listen to your favourite music, then retire to your comfy bed for a great night's sleep.
Enjoy the perfect holiday for two at Ty Ganol Holiday Cottage.
